What does this comparison mean?

The original GTX 1060 6GB and GTX 1660 Super 6GB have equal capacity, but the Super records the higher average. The hardware changes from Pascal with GDDR5 to Turing with GDDR6. Neither is an RTX card, so this comparison should not be sold as adding RTX-specific hardware merely because the newer card uses the Turing architecture.

Both variants have 6GB of graphics memory. Memory capacity, board dimensions, power connectors and the price of a particular used card are separate from this benchmark. Compare the exact item before deciding whether to upgrade.

The two GPUs in context

GTX 1060 6GB (GDDR5, 8 Gbps)

This is the original Pascal GTX 1060 with 6GB of 8 Gbps GDDR5, released in July 2016. Other capacity and memory-speed variants are separate.

GTX 1660 Super 6GB

The GTX 1660 Super launched in October 2019 with Turing architecture and 6GB of GDDR6. It remains a GTX model rather than an RTX card.

How the figures are compared

Both FPS figures come from the owner-supplied GPUsed benchmark dataset. GPUsed reports a continuous FurMark run at 1080p for its physical-card checks. The percentage compares the higher model average with the lower one using the original FPS values. Our rating uses a compressed scale, with the fastest GPU at 100; it is separate from the percentage difference. A benchmark result does not predict gaming FPS.

GPUsed reports its physical-card checks typically last 30 to 60 minutes while temperature and stability are checked. The owner supplied the model-level FPS workbook on 2 October 2026; this benchmark dataset was last reconciled 3 October 2026. Historical cards tested are separate from the number of FPS runs behind a model average. GTX 1060 6GB (GDDR5, 8 Gbps) uses the 145-card GeForce GTX 1060 6GB family total; GPUsed has not split it by this exact variant. Full benchmark method.
