Best Value / Cheap GPUs UK 2025: Sub £200 Picks

New GPUs under £200 are basically non-existent right now, so the smart play is the used market. TechRadar has recently called out how few worthwhile options exist below £200 new, and that you’re largely shopping previous-gen or second-hand at this price point. Ray tracing in this tier will be limited, so prioritise solid 1080p raster performance and features like DLSS/FSR over RT eye-candy.

TL;DR – Best used buys under £200 (UK)

Notes

RTX 2070 / 2070 Super

  £130 - £150

8GB

Same performance as a 6600XT; well under £200 when in stock. Check them out at GPUsed here

RX 5700 XT

£130 - £140

8GB

Big raster for the money; be wary of ex-mining cards. Check them out at GPUsed here

RTX 2080 / 2080 Super

£160 - £200

8GB

Top end within the £200 price bracket. Check them out at GPUsed here

RTX 3070 / RTX 4060

£200 - £220

8GB

Just throwing these in here for someone who wants a bit of future proofing and can just squeeze past that £200 mark, perhaps in a few months these may be sub £200. Check our 3070s out here and check our 4060s out here.

The GPUsed short list (price order)

1) RTX 3070 / 4060 - Best at or around £200

Typical UK used price: £200-£220 depending on model/stock. Faster than 6600XT, 2070 and other counterparts and of course a newer gen, so a bit more future proof. Perfect for high-refresh 1080p on “High/Ultra” in most games, and squeezing into 1440p too if needed.

2) RTX 2080 / 2080 Super

Typical UK used price: £160-£200. Similar to the above 3070 / 4060 in terms of performance, just one generation older, if you see one at a good price, don’t hesitate to pull the trigger, solid cards and will be for a while, one of my favourites along with the 1080 Ti, but that conversation is for another day!

3) RTX 2070 / 2070 Super

Typical UK used price: £130–£150. Again, just a slightly slower version of the 2080 series, solid cards and tend to be priced pretty well with the occasional bargain popping up. Also, weird take but I tend to see these with boxes a lot more often than not, if that’s your thing. But that’s probably just a recency bias from the ones we’ve had in at GPUsed in the past few months or something, not sure!

4) RX 5700XT — best FPS per £

Typical UK used price: £130-£140. Very handy 8GB card still kicking out solid FPS. They’re known to be able to run forever, some are even rated upto 110C, which shows how hardy they are!

What to skip under £200 (2025)

  • RTX 3050 (6GB/8GB) - Always poor price to performance ratio, perhaps due to limited supply and a later release date than the other 30 series, 3050 prices have never been as quick to drop as the other 30 series.

  • GTX 1650 / 1050 Ti / 6500 XT - Often sold in pre built PCs, made to look like they’re doing a job, but they’re not. If you’re on a tight budget, completely fair enough, but for our ‘best under £200’ these are not it!

Expectations at this price

  • Target: 1080p High/Ultra (60–120fps depending on title).

  • Ray tracing: Keep it low/off; this tier isn’t built for heavy RT. Upscalers (DLSS/FSR/XeSS) help more than RT here.

GPUsed buying checklist (quick)

  • Ask for temps and a short stress-test video if you’re nervous.

  • Prefer cards with intact original cooler and no BIOS mods.

  • Check display outputs and VRAM errors (use OCCT/MemtestG80).

  • Budget 100W+ extra PSU headroom vs. the card’s TGP.

  • For ex-mining-suspect models (e.g., RX 5700 XT), budget for fresh pads/paste.
