Sale and Part Exchange Process
How sale and part exchange works at GPUsed
GPUsed gives UK sellers a direct route to sell used computer components or part-exchange them against products available from GPUsed. This page explains the difference between a normal sale, a part exchange and a “both options” enquiry.
Choose the right route
Sale, part exchange or both
The quote form lets you explain what you want to do. The more clearly you choose the route, the easier it is for GPUsed to reply properly.
Sale process
Use this route when you want to sell your item to GPUsed for a direct cash quote.
- You submit the item details.
- GPUsed reviews the model, condition and quantity.
- You receive a direct cash quote where suitable.
- GPUsed can send a courier to you, or you can post the item to GPUsed.
- You include your name and payout details inside the box.
- Payment is made the same day after checks and approval.
Part exchange process
Use this route when you want to trade in your item against something available from GPUsed.
- Option 1: buy your GPUsed item first, then sell your old item afterwards using the normal sale process.
- Option 2: send your item first, then GPUsed reduces the target item by the agreed part-exchange value after checks and approval.
- For agreed eligible part exchanges, GPUsed covers postage both ways.
- You pay the difference if the GPUsed item costs more.
Sale process
How selling to GPUsed works
The sale process is designed to be direct: send the details, receive a quote where suitable, then payment is made after the item has been checked and approved.
Part exchange
There are two ways to part exchange
Part exchange means your used item is valued and put towards a product from GPUsed. You can either buy first and sell afterwards, or send your item first and have the agreed value taken off the GPUsed item you want.
What to include
Details GPUsed needs for a useful quote
Clear information means fewer follow-up questions and a cleaner quote.
Checks and approval
Quotes are subject to the item matching the description
GPUsed quotes are based on the information provided. Final approval depends on the item being the same model, same condition and same quantity as described, and passing the relevant checks. If an item has an undisclosed fault, is incomplete, is damaged, is the wrong model or does not match the original description, GPUsed may revise the quote or decline the item. When posting an item, include your name, contact details and payout details inside the box so the parcel can be matched to your quote quickly.
Testing
How items are checked before approval
GPUsed graphics cards are tested with a 1 hour FurMark temperature test, 2 Unigine benchmark runs for graphics performance, a GPU-Z legitimacy check and visual inspection. CPUs, RAM and SSDs go through their own specialist testing processes. Larger lots or part-exchange enquiries may need staged checking or agreed handling.
Best direct quote guarantee
How GPUsed handles genuine competing quotes
GPUsed offers a best direct quote guarantee against genuine written UK cash quotes from direct-buying competitors for eligible used computer components, where the quote is for the same item, same condition and same quantity. Private-sale listings, eBay sold prices, Facebook offers, Reddit offers, auctions, marketplace listings, trade-in credit, voucher-only offers, expired quotes and non-like-for-like comparisons are excluded.
