Type the whole model shown on the heat spreader: the series number, four-digit model and any suffix. X, G and X3D are not decorative additions, and a PRO or Threadripper part belongs in a different context from a normal desktop Ryzen CPU. If the writing is obscured by thermal paste, clean it carefully with an appropriate lint-free method; do not scrape the surface.
Model
For example, record “Ryzen 7 5800X3D” rather than “Ryzen 7” or “5000 series”.
Platform
Say AM4 or AM5 if known, but let the processor label remain the authoritative identity.
Presentation
Loose, original clamshell, retail box or removed from a complete system; state whether a cooler is included.
AMD’s official Ryzen desktop range is useful for checking current family names, but product pages change over time. A clear photograph of your actual processor prevents confusion with a similarly named model.
AM4 pins and AM5 contact pads need different checks
AM4 Ryzen processors carry pins on the CPU. Photograph them square-on and mention any bend, missing pin or paste contamination. AM5 desktop processors use flat contact pads while the delicate pins sit in the motherboard socket; show the pads and substrate edges. Never try to straighten, polish or repair anything solely for the quote.
On either platform, flag chips, burns, deep marks, a previous delid, liquid-metal residue or an uncertain working state. If it last worked before an upgrade, say when and in which board. That is more credible than claiming a fresh test you did not perform.
How suitability and value are judged
- Exact model and suffix: the most important distinction between processors in one family.
- Working and physical state: current evidence, pins or pads and substrate condition.
- Demand and quantity: a popular upgrade CPU and a tray of older parts are different commercial propositions.
- Safe presentation: proper processor protection matters more than a decorative retail box.
Faulty Ryzen CPUs may be considered at a substantial discount, usually around 10–15% of the working quote. This is case by case and does not make every broken or unsafe processor eligible.
Quote first, post after instructions
Submit the exact model, two clear photographs, working status, quantity and packaging.
